Daisies at Peace - 36x36 Mixed Media Oil Painting

A Note from the Artist: I don't usually write about a piece when I upload it, because I want it to speak to you visually without words. I am making an exception for this series. These women speak to the journey of finding beauty in chaos and understanding that we can have both peace and chaos at the same time. That there is an "and" in every part of our lives. Learning to embrace our "and's" opens opportunity.

The Power of "And"

"Daisies at Peace" is a stunning 36 x 36 inch original mixed media oil painting that embodies the profound truth that we are not either/or but both/and. This powerful large-scale square canvas features a woman in peaceful meditation, her closed eyes and serene expression radiating tranquility—yet her body and the space around her explode with vibrant chaos. She is both still and dynamic, both peaceful and passionate, both grounded and transcendent. She doesn't choose between calm and color—she holds both with grace.

Peace Within the Pattern

The woman sits in a meditative pose, her body adorned with intricate patterns, symbols, and layers of color—deep blues, vibrant corals, golden yellows, soft purples, and luminous teals. Her skin becomes a canvas for the complexity of life itself, covered in collaged elements, abstract marks, and painted details that suggest the many layers, stories, and experiences she carries. Yet despite this visual intensity, her face remains peaceful, eyes closed in quiet knowing. She has learned that peace doesn't require the absence of chaos—it's the ability to remain centered within it.

Daisies Crown Her Becoming

Her hair blooms into an explosion of white daisies against a backdrop of rich patterns and cosmic imagery—galaxies, mandalas, organic forms, and abstract beauty. The daisies, symbols of innocence and new beginnings, emerge from the complexity, reminding us that simplicity and intricacy can coexist. The flowers don't fight against the chaos—they bloom because of it, through it, as part of it. This is the paradox of transformation: we don't need to eliminate the mess to find beauty; we need to discover that beauty lives within the mess.

Embracing Your "And's"

This painting celebrates the revolutionary act of embracing your "and's"—the contradictions, the complexities, the seemingly opposite truths that all exist within you simultaneously. You can be strong AND vulnerable. Peaceful AND passionate. Grounded AND evolving. Whole AND still becoming. Calm AND colorful. The woman in "Daisies at Peace" doesn't choose one aspect of herself over another—she integrates all of it, sitting peacefully at the center of her own beautiful chaos.

Where Chaos Becomes Canvas

Created using my signature mixed media technique finished with oil paint, this 36 x 36 inch statement piece combines collage, acrylic washes, intricate pattern work, and luminous oil glazes to build extraordinary depth and texture. Every inch of the canvas is alive with detail—symbols, marks, colors, and layers that invite prolonged viewing and reveal new discoveries each time. The soft, ethereal background contrasts beautifully with the vibrant, detailed figure, creating visual harmony between stillness and movement, simplicity and complexity.

A Mirror for Your Journey

"Daisies at Peace" is more than a painting—it's a mirror for the woman who has stopped trying to be one thing and started embracing everything she is. It speaks to those who have learned that transformation isn't about eliminating parts of yourself but about integrating all of them. It honors the journey of finding peace not by escaping chaos but by sitting at its center with eyes closed and heart open, trusting that you can hold it all.

Perfect for living rooms, meditation spaces, bedrooms, creative studios, or anywhere you want a powerful reminder that you don't have to choose between peace and passion, stillness and growth, simplicity and complexity. This piece makes an extraordinary gift for women navigating major life transitions, integrating different aspects of themselves, or learning that the goal isn't to eliminate chaos but to find peace within it.

About the "And" Series

"Daisies at Peace" is part of a series exploring the power of "and"—the revolutionary practice of holding multiple truths simultaneously without needing to choose between them. These paintings celebrate women who have stopped trying to be one thing and started embracing the full spectrum of who they are. They honor the journey of discovering that peace and chaos, stillness and growth, simplicity and complexity can all coexist within us. Learning to embrace our "and's" doesn't just open opportunity—it opens us to the fullness of being human, beautifully imperfect, and wholly ourselves.
