Sarah Andreas’ Artwork Selected for the Prestigious 2024 Art of Soul! -Juried Art Show

[Strasburg, Ohio] — Accomplished artist Sarah Andreas is proud to announce that her piece, Unapologetically An Authority (2023), has been selected for the 10th Annual Art of Soul! Juried Art Show, presented by the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center (NAAMCC). This year’s theme, Black Joy and Social Justice, celebrates the intersection of art and activism, shining a light on the power of creativity to inspire change.

The exhibition opens on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the NAAMCC in Wilberforce, Ohio, and runs through March 1, 2025. Visitors will have the chance to experience an extraordinary collection of artwork by talented artists from across the nation, with 32 pieces chosen by a distinguished panel of jurors.

Special Features for 2024

This year marks the show’s 10th anniversary and introduces the inaugural NAAMCC Legacy Award, honoring a pioneering artist whose career has inspired others. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in selecting the People’s Choice Award, with voting details to be announced at the exhibit's opening.

The Esteemed Jurors

The selection of this year’s artwork was overseen by an impressive jury panel:

  • Steve R. Allen: Internationally acclaimed artist known for his bold use of color and a storied career that includes work displayed at the Smithsonian Institution and eight Olympic Games.
  • Chenoa Baker: Independent curator and cultural strategist whose projects highlight Black ancestral legacies and contemporary narratives.
  • Michelle Brandt: Founder of Brandt-Roberts Galleries, a recognized arts leader, and advocate within the Columbus arts community.
