Living Your Best Life: Freedom to Dream and Take Action
Living your best life is a deeply personal journey, and for me, it all comes down to freedom.
Freedom to choose when and where I work. Freedom to spend time with my family and friends. Freedom to paint, create, and do the things I love most. I could’ve never imagined how much joy I’d find when I stepped out in faith to start my own business. That leap allowed me to design a life that includes teaching college, painting professionally, running an ice cream trailer, and pursuing the passions that light me up.
But here’s the thing: when I first started dreaming about this life, it felt overwhelming. The idea of creating my “best life” seemed so big, so far away, that it was hard to know where to begin.
If you’re feeling that way, let me offer this: start small. Begin by spending time dreaming about what your ideal life would look like. Where would you live? How would you spend your days? What would you create or contribute to the world? Let yourself dream without judgment.
Once you have a vision, take one small step toward it. Then take another. And another. Each step builds momentum, even if it feels tiny in the moment. It’s those consistent, small actions that create big change over time.
Books have been a huge inspiration on my journey. A few I recommend include The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, Be Your Future Self Now by Dr. Benjamin Hardy, and, of course, my own books: Invisible Roots and Beauty from Chaos. These resources can help you tap into your creativity, clarify your vision, and stay motivated as you build the life you want.
Remember, your best life isn’t about perfection or achieving everything all at once. It’s about aligning your daily actions with your values, passions, and dreams. Freedom, growth, connection—it’s all possible when you take that first step.
